3cups Corn Chex® cereal
3cups Rice Chex® cereal
3cups Wheat Chex® cereal
1cup dry-roasted peanuts
1cup bite-size pretzel twists
1cup crunchy toasted corn kernel nuts
1/3cup butter or margarine
2teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1/2teaspoon salt
1/2teaspoon garlic powder
1/2teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
1/2teaspoon chili powder
2cups regular or nacho flavored tortilla chips, broken into 1-inch pieces
Check out the wide variety of flavored almonds and peanuts now available at the grocery store. Substitute any one of these for the peanuts in this mix.
Corn chips or chili and cheese flavored corn chips can be used in place of the tortilla chips.
Preparation Directions
1.In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, peanuts, pretzels and corn kernel nuts.
2.In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
3.Microwave uncovered on High for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring after each minute. Stir in tortilla chips. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool. Store in airtight container.
