Mushroom-Herb Stuffing

Move over, croutons. Here’s a flavorful and delicious stuffing based on crispy Chex® cereal.

Corn Chex®Rice Chex®
Ingredients
2eggs, slightly beaten
1 3/4cups Progresso® chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
1package (0.9 oz) spring vegetable-flavored soup mix
2tablespoons dried chopped onion
1 1/2teaspoons poultry seasoning
1can (4 oz) Green Giant® mushroom pieces and stems, drained
9cups Corn Chex® or Rice Chex® cereal or combination
Tips
For sausage stuffing, stir in a 12-ounce package of cooked and drained bulk pork sausage just before adding the cereal.
This is enough stuffing for an average 12-pound turkey. Or use some to stuff a roasting chicken, and bake the rest.
Preparation Directions
1.Heat oven to 350°F. Spray with cooking spray or grease 2-quart casserole.
2.In large bowl, mix all ingredients in order listed, stirring just until cereal begins to soften. Spread in casserole.
3.Cover and bake 50 minutes. Or if desired, use as stuffing for poultry or pork.
